The rank of Eagle Scout is highly prized and very difficult to obtain. The trail to Eagle involves many steps. You must master scouting techniques and leadership skills to become an Eagle Scout.
You must complete a service project for a specific organization to reach this high rank. This project can be something like building a shelter, planting flowers or trees, building benches, or anything else that is beneficial to a certain group. During this project you must show great leadership skills and planning ability. A project like this takes great planning and a long time to complete.
After the project is completed, you go through a board of review. At this board of review, you are asked questions about things from your entire scouting career.
After your board of review, an Eagle ceremony is held. At this ceremony, you are awarded your Eagle Scout patch. This is a time for your family, friends, and fellow scouts to recognize you for your accomplishments.
Becoming an Eagle Scout is a very high honor, and Troop 40 has produced many Eagles.
Andrew Corrigan, an Eagle Scout from Troop 40, said: "Over the past six years, I have had many great experiences and met a lot of great people. I have had a memorable experience working to become an Eagle Scout."
