Cedars is conveniently located just 40 miles west of Omaha and only 3
miles south of Fremont, in the scenic Platte River Valley.
From the Webelos Scout who just joined the troop to the veteran camper who
is returning for his fourth or fifth year, The
goal of With
a 50-foot climbing tower (The tallest of its kind!),
the second longest ZIP line, 600 feet, fifteen campsites, with the
addition of the new "Three Feathers" campsite, a constantly
expanding C.O.P.E. course, outstanding equestrian program, state of the
art shooting sports arena featuring archery, rifle shooting, black powder
and shotgun ranges, Olympic size pool and lake to keep your Scouts cool on
those hot summer days, Camp Cedars own newspaper "The Cedars
Journal", and our nature center filled with unique and exciting
animals. How can you not join in all the excitement? Our
dining hall, trading post and nature center are air conditioned for your Leaders

exciting and unique Merit Badges. With
over 36 merit badges,
every Scout will be able to find something. Challenge
yourself and set your own limits on the climbing tower or C.O.P.E. course. Pilot

the vast land of the Covered Wagon Scout Reservation. The
Covered Wagon Scout Reservation covers over 600 acres of land with

for everyone! There
is so much to do from working on merit badges to earning special awards.
Even the leaders can get involved while earning the Scoutmaster Merit
Badge or taking needed training. Make
memories that will last a lifetime. Generations
of Scouts have hiked the hills and valleys of Eighteen
campsites,
most with platforms and 7x9 tents, shower facilities, horses, Climbing
Tower, COPE course, a shooting sports area featuring archery, rifle
shooting, black powder and shotgun ranges as well as an Olympic size

Check-in:
Skip all of the lines on Sunday with advance check-in on the Tuesday
before camp. ·

your campsite host and start
unpacking. ·
Patrol
Cooking:
We provide the food. You provide the equipment and culinary skill to
cook it your way. ·
Discounted
fee. A limited number of units will be accepted. ·
Conservation
MANIA:
The Mother of All Nature-Intensive Activities, an all day nature program
with a separate set of merit ·
badges
for older Scouts. ·
Mountain
Boards:
Snowboarding without the snow or skateboarding without the concrete.

We
provide the all-terrain boards and safety gear for extreme fun. ·
Blacksmithing
Forge:
Turn hot metal into lantern hangers, tent stakes, and other useful camp

Fridays:

Rules:
Pay all fees and submit merit badge requests early to ensure that your

Scouts
receive preference for classes and activities. ·

Medications:
Changes to BSA national standards now permit medications to be kept in
your campsite. ·

Since
1990, Cedars has undergone numerous major additions which have included a
heated pool, with a shower house, accessible to the physically challenged;
the air-conditioned HunTel Systems dining hall, seating over 500; the
Bates Amphitheater with space for over 1,000 campers; a shooting sports
facility featuring the Protzman Arena and a the Scott Family Shotgun
Range; and the Dixon Family Nature Center. Recently
remodeled facilities include the In
1990 we renovated twelve campsites which provide 264 permanent tent
platforms for Scouts and Leaders. Since 2000 we have added four campsites,
including the Armstrong McDonald wheelchair-accessible campsite. Buildings
and facilities at Cedars may be rented when summer camp is not in session.

Scouter Services at the Our
summer camp season consists of six weekly sessions of Boy Scout camp and
three three-day sessions of Webelos camp. Cedars is also home to our
